ELIJAH I settle onto the bench beside the tree, stealing a glance at the book nestled in his lap. Harry Potter. Perfect. "Who's your favorite character?" I ask, trying to sound casual. He glances up, his dark eyes meeting mine for a fleeting moment before diving back into the book. Well, that's not surprising. He doesn't know me, after all. I’m just another stranger. "I like Dumbledore," I blurt out, hoping to spark a conversation. Not my most smooth move. I am going to fail today.

You know, that was how to trump any argument. I’d nodded, glancing around at the snarling Alphas. “He can have his whole life, if I’m gobbled up by the big bad wolves. I was meant to be solving a murder and stopping a war but…” Jeremy snorted. “Look you, was I Claimed by a sorceres or a Muggle?” I’d raised my eyebrow. “What, even with a wolve, I can’t escape the Harry Potter jokes?” Jeremy slunk to his feet. “That depends if you want to see my wand?”

Kael’s jaw tightened. Harry chuckled low, stepping closer to me. “Good, tell them, own it. You are not their doll to control. You are fire, and fire cannot be caged.” Headmistress Morwen slammed her staff against the floor, magic crackling in the air. “Enough!” she roared. “Aria Blackwell, you are hereby—” “Try it,” Harry cut in, his tone soft but deadly. The air in the hall froze. Even Headmistress Morwen stood still,her eyes narrowed at him.

The whole comment section suddenly went off-topic, erupting into a huge fight about whether or not Harry was actually smart. Neither side was willing to back down. Meanwhile, Harry just sat there in silence. Couldn't they give him a break? Where did they get off acting like he was a total idiot?
