You latched onto Harvey because he's richer than me, didn't you? What's with this virtuous, untouchable act? Putting on a show for your precious fiancé?" His fingers dug into her jaw, forcing her to meet his gaze. His grip was tight enough to hurt, and before she could stop it, tears welled in her eyes.

He turned his back and left them astonished. Dejectedly, Daphne sat down in the chair. She still worries about the potential of losing her work as a result of what happened today. What will happen to her if that occurs? She was unable to control the tears that were welling up in her eyes. Daphnie looked like a dream in her sapphire gown. Daphne was effortlessly beautiful, the kind of girl who didn’t need to try to shine she just did. Her long, golden hair shimmered like sunlight,Her hazel eyes sparkled with mischief and warmth, always full of energy and unspoken plans. She was bold, outspoken, and unafraid to chase what she wanted, especially when it came to love. Daphne had a natural confidence, the kind that drew people in without effort. She could light up any room with her laughter and charm, and even though we weren’t related by blood, she was more than just my best friend she was my family, my anchor, my sister in every way that mattered.

As for me, I'm ready to lose everything or even start from scratch and experience the hardships of life, but I saw how everything is so necessary to Craig, so I can't just let him down. She gasped for air, her vision blurring as the pressure increased. “Let me go!” Daphne whimpered, her voice barely a whisper as she struggled against his grip. Fear surged through her, her mind racing with desperation as she clawed at his hands, trying to free herself. The room spun around her, and she felt her strength fading, the cold grip of panic setting in as she realized just how close she was to losing consciousness.

I stood there, helpless, as they worked around him. “Please step outside,” someone said, guiding me toward the door. I barely felt it, I barely heard it. My mind was still stuck on his words.
