" Adeline shouted and tried to stand, but her knees shook with a strange intensity. She fell back. "Watch how you deteriorate slowly. The wound on your back will speed up the action, and that wound will start spreading till you die in three hours. No one is coming to save you anyways. See you in hell." Poe waved, walking out of the basement. "Poe!!!!!" Adeline screamed helplessly on the ground as the door closed.

panic begins to rise in my mind as I realize that we have left the borders of the Kingdom. Adeline stops in her tracks and her hackles raise along her back. A deep growl rumbles in her chest as she lowers her body to the ground in a defensive stance. Up ahead a large black wolf steps out of the darkness into the moonlight. His silvery-blue eyes stare at me as he growls at Adeline. Taking small steps forward Adeline continues to growl at the massive black wolf. He is easily twice our size. "Adeline," I yell at her through our mind. "Are you crazy?"

The floors were polished marble, and the walls were decorated with photographs of beaches, mountains, and fancy events that looked like scenes from old Hollywood. There was a faint smell of fresh flowers — roses, maybe — drifting from somewhere deeper inside. I swallowed hard. “I think this house is bigger than my entire life.” Adeline snorted. “Come on. Let me show you around before you get dramatic.” She grabbed my hand and pulled me through a hallway that looked like it belonged in a museum. “This is Adrian’s room,” she said as we passed a door on the left. “Don’t enter unless you want to die. He hates people touching his stuff.”

About fifteen minutes passed, and I was nearly at the end of the list. Three more names and I was done. Two more. “One—” I coughed. Once I got a handle on myself, I blinked. Then I ran my finger one more time. “Holy shite!”
