PREGNANT and REJECTED by the BILLIONAIRE
Inside, I could hear Chris and Rhys arguing about whether to move Elena's unconscious body.
"Lyra," I called softly. "May I come in?"
The tent flap pulled back, and there she was. My daughter. Twenty-seven years old now, no longer the five-year-old who used to climb into my lap to read bedtime stories. But her eyes were the same. Kind, intelligent, determined.
"Dad," she whispered, tears streaming down her face.
"Hello, sweetheart."
She threw herself into my arms, and for a moment, I forgot about the mission, the danger, the years of separation. I just held my daughter and remembered what it felt like to be human instead of a ghost.
