My heart may have raced a little then. But I was never truly afraid of anything until you came back into my life and I realized how much I still loved you. She caught my eye and gave me that gentle smile she always did—one that carried understanding, love, and acceptance, despite knowing the darkness I came from. After that, she could dispose of them both. But something gnawed at her. She was actually starting to like this kid. And that bothered her more than anything else. She couldn’t remember liking a human in hundreds of years. Much less a stupid teenager. But, she had to admit, there was something about him. Some kind of kindred spirit, something she recognized. Even at his young age, she could tell he had been kicked around. He had a quality of recklessness, of not caring about the world, of knowing his days were numbered, of being ready to go out in style. And she liked that. It reminded her of an affair she’d had once with a young prince in Bulgaria, in the 1300s…

She bent to pack them out of exhaustion before finally opening her door. There was no point checking the letters since they might just be the regular cliches of reminders or a quit of notice. She dropped her things on her bed, before grabbing the jug on the counter, and gulping down the water directly from the jug. She walked and stood in front of the mirror and as if she needs self-encouragement from her reflection, she began to strip herself till she was fully naked. She stared at her huge boobs and bulging stomach that was a result of the water she had just drunk and down at her curves.
