CHAPTER THREE

Hannah was keen on the opinion about the first impression lasting longer. She doesn't want to appear like she was doing too much but she still wanted to impress them to the best of her abilities.

As she ran out of the house, almost forgetting to lock her door, she checked her time and saw that she was able to dress up within seventeen minutes which was quite impressive.

She wasn't the type to take a taxi since she was particular about cutting down expenses. Taking the bus was the easiest thing for her and in that manner, it seems faster but sitting in the taxi now, she got to enjoy the difference since she finally got to the shop within a few minutes.

Hannah got down in front of the shop, staring at the building with a bright smile on her face. She couldn't quite place the structure of the building well in her memory but she could still recollect that she had been there during her several quests for job hunting.

She pulled at her dress, lightly before walking in.

As she entered, she was greeted with a loud noise that seem to be bulletproof to the outside. As she walked forward gently, someone bumped into her and without an apology, the person sauntered away, hurriedly.

The whole place was busy and more like a brouhaha view. It looked as though everyone was either busy or fighting which made her wonder how she was going to cope at the place.

Hannah looked around from table to table with people munching on a slice of pizza, gisting or laughing. This whole place was giving the market vibe and she had no idea how to feel about it.

"Are you just gonna stand over there or get your ass to work right now?!" someone from afar from where she was standing yelled over the loud noise. He appeared to be the man who had interviewed her the last time she came for the job and probably the one that had called her.

"Yeah, yeah. Sure!" she answered before walking towards the counter.

This wasn't exactly the type of atmosphere she was expecting to welcome her at least, this wasn't how crowded it was when she came looking for a job but then, she finally got the job.

"Just get to the changing room and change unto this. You have some deliveries to make!" he said.

He was the only one handling everything here which means he had a lot to do and the least she could do at the moment was to get changes into the "pizza slice" customised T-shirt and get the deliveries down just like he had instructed.

Hannah took the shirt from him and followed his direction to the changing room. After she was done changing, putting on the shirt over the dress, she walked out to the same busy shop with no filter whatsoever.

After taking the deliveries, she took the scooter and headed toward the address given to her.

This wasn't how she wanted her first sat at work to be. She wanted a much more settled environment where she'd get the chance to mingle more with the customers so she could prove her customer relationship to her boss, not hurrying off in a pizza delivery scooter.

After three minutes of riding the scooter, she stopped by the traffic, obviously waiting for the green light to lead her on. She looked at her side where a car parked, also waiting for the same cause. The car looked like an expensive one and for a minute, she dreamt of riding in one which could probably not happen if she remained as a pizza delivery girl.

She looked forward at the traffic light which was still on red and then, she sighted Cora crossing the road.

"Hey, Clara," she shouted, feeling really elated to sight someone she knew.

Cora looked to her side and saw her. A bright smile equally played on her lips as well before she walked closer to her.

"Cora," she corrected again and Hannah laughed.

"My apologies," Hannah said and Cora nodded her head.

"You got a job?"

"Yes. I finally did at a pizza shop,"

"Oh, that's great," Cora retorted and then, the loud sounds of cars were honking.

"Oh shit! Can I get your contact?" she asked and Cora nodded while they both exchanged contacts even with the yelling in the background.

She finally ignited the scooter back and as she drove, even before she could blink and realize what was going on, the expensive car she had seen earlier collided with her bike causing her to fall.

As she regained her balance and was going to confront the driver, the person sitting at the owner's corner rolled the tinted glass down and threw a thousand dollars at her.

Hannah stared at the young man furiously, taking in his arrogant look. She was going to yell at his rude attitude when he rolled the glass back up and drove away.

"Son of a bitch!" she yelled angrily at the car that was already speeding off before looking down at the cartons of pizza which were thankfully not destroyed.

She was so mad and was going to leave the cash on the ground right there but she let go of her pride on the ground instead and picked up the money.

Even though she still had the anger right within her somewhere, she successfully made the deliveries and headed back to the store.

The whole place seems like a totally different shop as though she had just entered the wrong one.

"Welcome back," her boss greeted and a guy who she hadn't seen earlier scoffed at her.

"Thanks for today, you may leave now. We urgently needed someone to make deliveries for us but now we have the delivery guy back," he smiled at her before walking away.

"What?" she let out in utmost exasperation.

"Not a dollar, not even a cent was given to me!" Hannah grumbled to Cora.

"Tell me how he spoke again," Cora said as she laughed.

"Thanks for today, you may leave now. We urgently needed someone to make deliveries for us but now we have the delivery guy," Hannah mimicked with a funny face and Cora laughed even more.

It had been two weeks since she met Cora and their friendship seems as though they had been having sleepovers since third grade.
