She is the happiest person I know, and if I'm feeling depressed, she's the girl I go to to pull my head out of the darkness. "Hey hot stuff. I miss you," I smile thinking about her crazy red curls and sparkling brown eyes. My girl exudes happiness. I wish she could've come home with me. She would've told me to pull my head out of my ass when I got here. Damn, I miss her!

God, I want her so badly it feels like something inside me is being ripped apart. I miss her, even though I never got to hold her, never got to feel her in my arms or hear her cry or see her eyes open for the first time, the absence of those moments feels just as real as if I had lived them. I only saw her in pictures, and that’s not enough. It will never be enough.

The longing to be with her gnawed at me; I missed her more than I could express. Isabella had been a lifeline, sending me pictures and videos of Sophie, and each one reminded me of the warmth of her smile and the way her laughter lit up a room.
