"I like that girl. And she is the girl I will marry."Nicholas said to his elder brother Andrew, as he eyed Eliza from top to bottom with a smile on his face. "No chance." With just two words, Andrew immediately smashed all his hopes. "But why?" Nicholas asked with confusion and suspicion evident on his face. "Because she doesn't like men".Andrew replied with a smirk on his face. Nicholas felt like his heart shattered into pieces, however he tried to calm down himself and asked," That means she likes women, right?" Andrew laughed and immediately denied his suspicion," No, she just hates man. I don't think she has involvement with women. And before you ask me the reason, I clearly want to tell you that I have no clue about that as well." Nicholas felt relieved and looked in the direction of the sky as he placed his right hand on his heart and said," Then you see how I will make her mine.

One last assignment then I can finally find my mate. I have no idea why this alpha is so important but the committee has granted him with the best security in existence, me. I’m not your average wolf, in fact, my kind are often beaten and belittled, but by some divine intervention I had been raised from a lowly omega pup to the ultimate weapon and protection for the werewolf world. We have been spread thin and even though Guardians are reserved for the highest of Alphas I am being bequeathed one. What would normally be an honor feels like a slap in the face when she shows up, this woman who claims she was sent to protect me. Female warriors are heard of sure, but a female guardian? This must be a joke and I refuse to be laughed at.

"Ah, yes, she can be a headache when she does that. That's why you boys need to cover for me. The bonding ceremony is in three days. I don't want anything to go wrong." The boys cackled and promised they would keep their mouths sealed. I was standing right outside the door. I heard everything, but all I did was leave in silence. The mate ring was still in my hand, but the bonding ceremony was not going to happen.

As soon as my husband sat at the dining table, he couldn't stop himself from talking. The humiliations of my school days had become his favorite entertainment, served up to his drinking buddies like appetizers. To ensure the launch of the company's new game, I worked overtime for a week straight. I practically lived at the company.
