Thanks to the shared dark shadows under their eyes, the mood lightened considerably during the drive to city hall.
Everything went smoothly.
A surreal feeling washed over Tabitha as the clerk finalized the paperwork.
Just like that, she and Koben were bound to one another, even if it was only temporarily.
Walking out of the city hall, Tabitha made a suggestion.
“I heard that your parents are away on a trip, so you’re alone at home. Why don’t you move in with me?”
Fearing Koben might decline, Tabitha added. “Don’t worry. There are plenty of rooms for you to choose from. It will be just like when we were abroad.”
