Ziniya glanced at the Middle Eastern cuisine that was prepared for Kabir and Ayaan before answering softly, “I don’t know.” Confused by her reply, Aminah followed her gaze to the dishes on the kitchen island. She understood her uncertainty at seeing unfamiliar food. “Kabir Baba prefers simple homemade food,” Aminah’s reply grabbed Ziniya's attention. Aminah smiled at the unspoken question on her face.

Bima barked, his hands immediately grabbing the remnants of an egg that had broken in the bowl earlier, and started chasing Arka around the island. The kitchen exploded into pure chaos. They chased each other through the tight space, throwing failed baking ingredients back and forth. Bima laughed loudly, his movements agile as he tried to slip out of Arka’s long reach. But Arka was an athlete. In three large, aggressive steps, he managed to corner Bima right at the edge of the kitchen island. Arka gripped Bima’s waist, effortlessly lifted the lighter boy, and sat him down hard on the cold marble table.
