A pair of triumphant eyes locked onto mine, and I felt a wave of dizziness. “Well, well! Running off to have fun with my mom, huh? Have you had your fill yet, Naomi?”

"What the hell? What did she do in there? Why does it stink so badly?" Marcus frowned hard. Fighting his nausea, he switched on the greenhouse lights. My body lay curled on the ground, completely unresponsive. "What are you playing at, Bianca? Get up now!" Marcus roared. He thought I was retaliating by doing something revolting to express my dissatisfaction toward them. My soul stood right beside him. I watched as his face grew more furious at my silence and thought what a tragedy this was. Mackenzie pinched her nose and cast a look of repugnance before letting out an exaggerated scream. "Oh my god! How repulsive! Did she mess with the pesticides in here? That's so dangerous!"

At 6am, I start my exercise in my private gym, I took all my frustration on the punching bag, after that I get ready for work and move out of the mansion without having any breakfast. In the afternoon, when I was in a meeting my phone start buzzing, I ignored it but it was continuously buzzing so without any delay I received the call. And in a matter of seconds, she was on the poor guy’s lap, a marshmallow between her teeth, leaning in, and the whole group screamed.

“With marshmallows.” “Yes.” “And I want to sit near the fire but not too near because my hair has a future.” Karl nodded seriously. “Reasonable.” Max pointed at him. “I want to roast my marshmallow until it’s black.” “That’s tiny arson,” I said. “That’s flavor,” he argued. “He has a point,” Karl said. I set my glass down a little harder than necessary. “Wow. Incredible. Twenty seconds into this trip and I’m already raising criminals alone.”

“You built a blanket fort.” “I built a palace, Felix, have some respect for the architecture.” He patted the space beside him with the seriousness of a man discussing actual real estate. “There’s a hot chocolate throne reserved for you. I even put those little marshmallows in it, the tiny ones, because apparently regular sized marshmallows offend you deeply for reasons I’ve never fully understood.” Something cracked open in my chest, something warm and disbelieving and completely unprepared for this. “You’re telling me amnesia me had a marshmallow size opinion.”

Wondering why am I being chased by a monster. I laughed at my thought. “Got ya!” Shit, I didn’t realize I stopped running. I rolled my eyes at him and went inside our room. As we sat in our place, he looked at me, smiling. “Thank you for making me smile today. I’m having a bad day but thanks to you, I’m now fine.” He said, still smiling. “Oh yeah, thank you for ruining my mood today. I’m having a good day but thanks to you, I’m not fine.” I mimicked his words changing them to my perspective. I rolled my eyes after that and he just laughed again.
