The Devil’s Bargain
She looked up at the stark white ceiling, then pulled out her phone, opened the camera, and took a picture of her left arm.
The close-up shot showed the needle mark still oozing blood, the carelessly applied bandage, and her pale, lifeless skin.
She looked utterly pathetic.
She sent the photo to Aaron Kael, with the message:
[Your toy is broken, Uncle. Couldn’t pack anything, and they drained my blood without mercy. If you don’t come save me, I won’t rest in peace.]

Late evening, Criminal Police Bureau.
Aaron Kael leaned wearily against his chair, eyes closed, resting. Finally, the Annie case had a resolution. Another tragic soul, unable to cope, committed suicide over love.
