If he were to see an apartment with cheap rate, he would venture into leaving the slum but for houses being affordable in ghettos except if life has blessed one with much. And the ghetto houses was one popular area known to all. If there's no leaking roof with buckets lined up in one's tiny living room or tiny droplets of rainwater dropping on one's head as one hurries with a bucket, then it will be the full-loaded pit with a repugnant stench occupying the entire surroundings.

An Ub*r car stops in front of the gate and Elle gets into it. Scarlett instantly starts her car and slowly follows Elle. The Ub*r is heading for 98th street which is surprising. This place is one of the rundown areas where people live in slums and ghettos. Several buildings are stacked together and a strong stench of cigar and garbage is lingering in the air. The roads are narrow and the walls are stained with graffiti. Scarlett tails Elle’s car to the heart of the ghetto, frowning. Elle stops the car and gets out of it. She takes a deep breath and steps into a dark alley. Behind her, Scarlett also stops the car to peer at her from afar.

The ghetto area was famous for robbing and killing and even sometimes, rape and my father in his days had tried to reunite the ghetto with us but it seemed like they enjoyed wallowing in their deep misery. Well, it was a good thing that they hadn't agreed, a good thing that they had stayed true to their ghetto hood. I drove down the town. The ghetto was characterized by dirty areas and shabby looking people and lots of prostitutes hovered around in the corners, calling out to their male customers to patronize them. Sometimes, I forgot that there was a place like this in our pack. I had forgotten how large our pack could be.

No one knows the actual owner but rumor is, everyone who has tried to find out, is now dead.
