Her hands glow with soft, smoky light that curls like incense. People kneel. Not because she forces them. Because they’re desperate to place their fear somewhere that has a name. “My doctrine is simple,” she says, voice carrying like a sermon. “Desire is power. Power without rules is hunger. It looks… almost like an Axis mark, but altered.

Their symbol has always seemed appropriate to me, and I even believe the architects made that deliberate decision all those years ago. Everyone is aware that a Gahndor bite can be fatal, after all.

I wasn't supposed to be in such proximity with her. Ishtar, staring at me through her eyelashes, spoke softly as she looked up at my imposing figure hovering over her rather small one. Again, she was no different from Minerva— that exciting energy that they both possessed and weaponized. Maybe I do need her. This could be a way to redeem what was broken in the past. If Ishtar was here, then the possibility of others like her being around was far too imperative to ignore.

She felt an itch on her palm as she placed her hand on his, watching him closely. Gin stared at the black ring on her index finger.
