Novel & Cerita Jake Tapper Novel

she said. “Thanks.” “You’re welcome.” Normally, he would have smirked by now. Said something sarcastic. Nothing. He looked tired. Worse than tired. Like he had already made a decision and hated himself for it. Lisa slowly closed her laptop. “What happened?” Jake didn’t answer immediately. He looked at her for a second too long. Then leaned back in his chair. Like he was preparing for impact. When he finally spoke, his voice was calm. “Marry me.”

_ Harper's POV cont. A few months ago, I never would have imagined my life turning out like this. When I first started this school year, I had expected nothing but another miserable year. Instead, somehow, everything had changed. I had fallen in love with the person I once thought I hated. Jace and I had survived everything that had been thrown at us. His family had finally begun facing the truth about Nick. I had gotten into Harvard. Quinn was also going to attend the school she'd always wanted.

FIFTEEN I crouched at the edge of those blueberry bushes, quietly afraid. Jake left his bike with me, hoisted his backpack over his shoulder, hefted his hammer once more and melted into the darkness soundlessly like a cat. I couldn’t help but shiver, thinking about Dad saying James Burns could do the same thing as a kid. That’s why he’d been picked to be a Green Beret, because he could fade into the misty Cambodian jungles like he’d never been there at all. Here Jake was, doing the same, leaving me alone. The night closed in around me, darker than I’d ever seen it, so dark I could barely make out my hand.

Jake asked, pulling out a laptop from his bag. "I can't wait for Avery to meet you." I blurted out before I could stop myself. There was something comforting about him, his smile and his charisma really took me off guard. And I was glad he kinda liked Avery too. "Yeah me too." Jake smirked. **Bam! A new character. Jake! I already love him so much. And poor Avery hasn't got a chance to meet him yet. What are your thoughts on Jake, Ava's trashed apartment? Definitely someone did that, who do you think it is? - A Beta's Regret - A Twist of Fate? Jake is Midnight Forest Pack's Beta, incredibly popular and handsome, always surrounded by friends, and is successful in business and as his role in pack as Beta. Yet part of his life feels incomplete. Seeing all of his friends settled down with their mates and now having children, Jake can't help but wonder where he went wrong or think if he will forever be alone. Avoidance seems to be the best tactic, and Jake pushes himself harder into work, where an unexpected encounter at a business meeting gets his heart racing and turns his life upside down.

That is all. ‘Mate! Mate!’ Mina is screaming in my mind. “Look how handsome he is!’ She isn’t wrong to be fair. He is tall, muscular. With a headful of dark hair, short at the sides, but flopping into his face. His eyes are a piercing grey. And such a strong jaw, defined further by the stubble dotted along it. “Jake this Rose Cartwright” the woman next to him smiles “Rose, this is our Beta and business partner, Jake Joseph. I am Lilah Winters. My husband Knox is back at the pack at the moment, but is able to come along if you should need him to attend”

It was the designated smoking section of the church, and there were a handful of guys taking advantage of it. "Jake Isaac. How are you, son?" One of the older guys turned and extended his hand. "You still up in New England, son?" "A Yankee now, hm, boy?" Another one moved in for his handshake. "Not sure you can take the country out of the boy, Mr. Jackson." Jake shook hands as the guys gave him hell. He shot the shit with them for a few minutes until Kari moved toward him. "Who's this pretty thing?" Mr. Jackson moved up and extended his hand. "Please don't tell me you're dating this rascal."

Without knocking, I pushed the door open and stepped inside. Jake stood near the window, still shirtless, his towel draped over one shoulder as he drank from a water bottle. He turned at the sound of the door opening, one eyebrow raising in question. “What now?” he asked, his tone laced with mild annoyance. I didn’t even pause to think. “She has to go.” Jake blinked. “What?” “That girl—Tammy—she has to leave,” I said, my voice shaking with anger. “How can you stand her throwing herself at you like that? It’s disgusting!”

He nodded as he picked up a small stack of papers and settled into a club chair that was on the opposite side of the carefully waxed mahogany end table that bordered the sofa. “Are there a lot of humans?” she persisted. Jasper shrugged as he focused his attention on the first paper. “I only met Cora and Bess,” he said. “Then, I was kept in the infirmary the entire time. This is a big place.” “It’s funny that he keeps humans on staff,” she mused. “Cora is his staff, correct?” Jasper looked up from his paper. “Why the interest in Cora?” he asked. Lila shrugged and gave a mock yawn. She didn’t want to admit to him that she’d noticed the way he’d admired Cora and was jealous.

Jake, you fucking degenerate! Jake was smiling as he approached the center where Tales was slumped on the floor. Jake crouched beside him, microphone in hand, his sharp suit and confident smirk making him look every bit the master of ceremonies. He scanned the crowd, his voice dripping with mockery as he began. “Ladies and gentlemen,” Jake drawled, “tonight, you’re in for a more delicious treat. Meet Tales.” He gestured grandly at Tales, his grin widening. “He’s not just strong and defiant—oh no, that’s only the surface. This one? He’s a masterpiece of pleasure and pain. A fighter by day, and...” Jake leaned slightly toward the microphone, his voice dropping suggestively, “a dream in bed at
