​Before the engine could even cut out, the heavy oak front door of the main house slammed open. ​"Look who finally decided to bring the hostage!" a loud, booming voice echoed across the lawn. ​Jacob "Jake" Bill lounged on the porch railing, a half-eaten green apple in one hand and a basketball spinning effortlessly on the index finger of his other. Jake was nineteen, six-foot-one, with a messy, sun-bleached brown crew cut and sharp green eyes that always looked like they were searching for the nearest source of entertainment. He was Mike's childhood shadow—wherever Mike went, Jake was usually raiding the fridge or causing a scene close behind.

Jake stated seriously. "I'll be inside call me if you need me." Cole stated following Gabby. Cole is already used to Jake's attitude he is rude and arrogant but he knows when to butt in a situation. Those punks had it coming. Jake hates it when someone talks trash about someone. He also has some anger issues. If things don't go his way he always settles things with a fight. He hates losing and he never loses a fight. He is an expert with man to man combat, gun and air strike. He was part of the air force for about 4 years. He was a great soldier. But more importantly he is a great friend. He never let his friends down.

Jake said, narrowing his eyes. The heat in my shoulder radiated through me, moving down my arm and into my chest. I took a moment to collect myself. I had to be careful about what I said. I wasn’t sure how much he knew about Trista and Liam. Sure, he could find out whatever he wanted, but that didn’t mean I wanted to offer up the information freely. “I’m waiting,” Jake said impatiently, waving the glowing green knife at me.

But he weighed the consequences of that action and slowly unclenched his hands. "You got a problem with that, Sanders?" Aaron asked, tilting his head. He exhaled a cloud of smoke toward the guy's face. “You forgotten how to speak, boy?” Jake stared at him. Every word he wanted to say stayed trapped inside his throat. Instead, he shook his head and stepped back. "I have no problem with it," he said with as much calm as he could muster. Aaron smiled, tapping his cheeks. "Good choice." He turned toward the hallway. “Where's Blake? He's supposed to report back to me."

Traditions ran deep and rules were strict. Jake was twenty eight. Tall with strong shoulders from years of working on the family farm and in the workshop. He had dark messy hair and eyes that seemed to see too much. He lived in the house with his parents and his younger brother. But the one who made everything complicated was his cousin Ryan.

He knew that perhaps Marcus' men might be around. Jade wanted to show him that he isn't concerned about his former family anymore, so he can't use that to threaten him again. “Wow, see who is making a marvelous entrance here.
