Victoria stopped at the top of the stairs, instinctively turning her head to look back. A matte-black armored sedan had come to a halt at the edge of the carpet. The driver opened the rear door, and Jamie stepped out first, wearing a voluminous gold sequin ballgown that shimmered loudly under the spotlights. She plastered a wide, theatrical smile on her face, waving enthusiastically at the cameras. Then came Giordano.

My name is Kim Ahri Gaumond. I am a simple employee who usually spends most of her time working, doing charity work, or attending treatments. Christie folded her arms, looking at her friend and roommate with soft eyes. She was right. If not for her, Christie wouldn't have met a man who continually tested her and pushed her to challenge herself more than anyone she'd ever known, and that was something for which she'd always be grateful.
