I was lost in thought and wondered why he was just telling me about the whole plan of seeing his parents. I wonder how soon the wedding will be. I sat there battling with my fears and anxiety. Xavier cleared his throat and broke the silence. “Sooooo” he dragged, leaning forward, hands resting on the table. “Who is Sydney Poe as a person?” I roll my eyes. “Well your PA….turning wife soon” He smiles—the type that you do when trying to control a full-blown laughter. “Aside from being my PA of course” He adds, trying to resist a chuckle.

“I’m calling the inner circle. Steak. Mead. Music. You’ll smile. You’ll drink juice. You’ll let them toast the future alpha.” “Future alpha?” I scoff. Then he’s gone. I stand there, fists clenched. My stomach flips again. An hour later, the backyard is loud. Pack members laugh around the fire pit under the moonlight. Someone strums a guitar. The smell of grilling meat fills the air. Jaxon finds me by the porch steps. He holds out a plate. steak, rare, potatoes, a sprig of rosemary. “Eat,” he says. I take it. “I’m not hungry.”

Jake Jake walked into his small townhouse, the smell of spring flowers filling the air. He smiled at the sound of his brothers making fun of his cleaning habits somewhere in the recess of his memory. He needed to take a trip back to Texas soon. It had been three or four years, and though he talked to his mother and father every Sunday, he needed to see them. It was Bethany's fault... or maybe it was time to move past that. He pulled his shirt over his head and held it until he walked into his room, jumping and shooting it into the clothes hamper like a basketball.

"Thank you," Zion says. "Your building is very tall. I like it." Jaxon smiles — real, unguarded, the one that does the unfair thing to his face. "Thank you," he says. "I'll tell it you said so."

Shawn's face was almost full of different shapes while Jade's face was barely drawn on. The tables turned and Shawn's team began to win and Shawn wrote a letter on her forehead for each win. At the end of the game, Shawn's team emerged as the winner. On his face were a mustache, a variety of shapes, and a hippo while on Jade's face was written: JADE IS A LOSER!!!

“I believe you know the name Jaxon?, I want you to stay away from him." I watched Scorpion let out a snort. "Why would I want to do that?” He queried "It is obvious you don't want to learn. I have always warned people like you staying in other people's business. Jaxon is not worth the effort." Scorpion lifted his chin, a touch of amusement twinkling in his eyes. "Oh, but is he deserving of your time and effort? Tell me something more amusing, please” He said laughing I breathed deeply, controlling my anger. "Jaxon and I have a history together. A very nasty one and I'm ready to kill anyone that tries to support him in it against me"
