“Nero!” I gasp, half-laughing as I lunge forward to scoop the doll into my arms. “You can’t just handle her like that. She’s fragile.”
I cradle the simulator against my chest, supportively tucking its head into the crook of my elbow. “And you definitely don’t drop it like that.”
I begin a slow, rhythmic sway, humming softly under my breath. Within seconds, the simulator’s sensors register the movement, and the crying dissolves into a soft, satisfied coo.
