My emerald ring, gold tops are still there. My mother gifted me the ring on my eighteenth birthday and the gold tops on my 25th last year. Nothing except my phone is missing. She cleared her throat, and kept some distance between us. “Was it?” I mouthed. I knew nothing about romance. She rolled her eyes at me. “Can you take me home?” “What are you gonna eat? Then leave me alone because the moment I get out of here I gonna call the cops on you!” I chuckled, she amused me. “On what charge?” I asked, and folded my arms. I watched her lips moved, her eyes darting before meeting mine. “Kidnapping.”

His face was a masterpiece of sharp angles, but it was his eyes that held me captive—cold golden eyes, and entirely devoid of mercy. “You’re mine now,” he said flatly, as if he were stating a fact as simple as the weather. “Please,” I whispered, tears streaming down my face. “I don’t know how I got here. I was kidnapped! This is a mistake. Just let me go. I’ll do anything.” He raised an eyebrow, his expression shifting from bored to mildly amused. “A mistake? That’s cute.” “I’m serious,” I said, my voice breaking. “I don’t belong here. Please.”

He truly intended to get his hands on the money. However, Hailey was stingy and refused to pay him, chewing them out instead. Infuriated, the kidnappers killed Donald and Jane, took the money, and ran. They were caught while on the run. I nodded expressionlessly, looking at the deranged man in front of me. It was hard to believe that he had been a wealthy, glamorous scion just a few days ago. "So why are you telling me this? Are you hoping that I'll take pity on you?"
