Kindle Library Novels & Stories

They played car racing and Annika kept on hitting the road side. After showing the game room, Kurt showed Annika their library. This was Annika’s most favorite part of Kurt’s house because she loves reading books. The library had too many books to count. It was a lot bigger than a book shop. Annika looked like a little girl in a candy store. “You can borrow some books here if you like.” Annika smiled. “Really?” Kurt nodded. “No one ever uses it.”

"Alone. This morning." The word *alone* was doing particular work in that sentence. "When?" Kael said. "Now, Your Highness." --- The King's private library was a room Kael had been inside fewer than a dozen times in his life. It was not the Royal Library, which was a public institution. This was different—smaller, personal, occupying a corner of the King's wing that most of the palace's residents didn't know existed. The books were old. Not decoratively old, the way the formal reception rooms used antique volumes as aesthetic objects, but *actually* old, the kind of old that meant they had been used and were still being used, their spines worn and their pages marked.

It was only a brief moment, but I would recognize that tattoo anywhere. On the left peck of the man's chest, swirling ink formed a huge snowflake with a snarling wolf. I knew that picture. It was the sigil of house Caldore. I had seen it in books and read about it in stories. The older witches whispered it in the tales they told my village at night. Wolves with hearts as cold as ice and skin that snow melts upon. I was in Northwood, and what was worse was that I knew the man who was rummaging angrily through the books in his room. I should have realized it the moment I saw his glowing blue eyes.

She had spent time there reading and learning some of their histories, or she would take books back to her chambers. The library was antique but well-maintained. The keeper used a classification system. So if you were looking for books about the history of Wolfkind, it would all be in one section, and Aakifahlynn was banking on the same thing for what she was looking for. There were rows and rows of books. The library was two stories high and had great lighting. A ladder assists you in reaching those that are higher. She came across a couple of teenagers and an old lady, and scanning a few more rows, Aakifahlynn found it, 'Erotic Literature.'

“I’m telling you, staring at that thing all the time won’t make your crush text you back.” “Mom! That’s so rude! I don’t even have a crush,” Dasha snapped, clearly annoyed and a little embarrassed. “I’m just reading stories on Kindle!” “Kindle? Isn’t that the app where all those steamy, raunchy novels are? The ones that make Fifty Shades look like a church sermon?” Aunt Lori said, her tone dripping with suspicion. “Mom! That’s not true!” Dasha protested, blushing as she stabbed at her scrambled eggs. “Kindle is for all kinds of stories, okay? And not all of them are… you know, like that.”

The small box had a Kindle reader inside, with books already installed in its library for her to read, a jacket for it, and then a note that told her if she ever really liked any books from the e-library, he would buy physical copies for her. “You did tell him you read at night. He’s sent you a library,” Tommy said, awed at the gadget. He was a voracious reader, too, but not of fiction. He would read any book he could find about aquaculture from the Chairman’s office now. He would read any non-fiction book he could put his hands on during a time when he wanted to learn about the topic. They picked this up from their father, who used to tell them there was nothing wrong with wanting to learn
