The freezing, biting wind of the high peaks rushed in, carrying the faint, metallic scent of snow and ancient magic. Standing on the platform, waiting for the train, was Elias. The forty-two-year-old sovereign wore no armor. He wore the simple gray wool of his office, the silver band blazing around his forehead. He looked at the locomotive, his golden eyes finding mine through the open door. "Welcome home, Grandmaster," Elias transmitted, his psychic voice carrying the heavy, unyielding weight of the mountain itself. "Let us finish the Forge."

I thought my life would get better, but maybe I shouldn't have expected too much from a freaking high school bully. Just after he made me come with a gasp, we heard a loud bang.

Now, however, he had found out he was a descendant of a god, he was near the most powerful city on the planet, he was attending this incredible school with students from all over, and it seemed he had a pretty cool roommate. Not to mention that he was actually going to have a bit of money every month for a change. To James, life had become a whirlwind. I am a christian and whenever I see such headlines, it makes more sad as it mocks my religion or at least disgraces me. I got over it and kept my jotter at the top of the shelf in my room.
