I frowned. “But you’re not working the morning shift tomorrow.” I recalled the schedule that Lukas had stuck on the wall and sent it to our group chat this afternoon. Caleb was the barista who would be working with me tomorrow but he would come at seven since I’d be the one doing the opening. The cafe would open at seven fifteen.

I don't know how I'm supposed to tie it, or where exactly, but I'll have Leonard help me out later. “Whoa there, you okay? Why are you rushing like that?” I gulped the water, shaking my head. “I—I’m sorry I’m late. Please don’t fire me. I really need this job.” Tom blinked, then chuckled. “Earth to May, no one’s getting fired. We don’t open till 9:30, remember?” I stared at him, confused. “Wait… what?” “Yeah,” he said, wiping a cup dry. “I told you yesterday. We set up at 9:30, doors open at 10.”
