And if my memory serves me correctly, she called him brother. “Xenia, this is my little sister.” I nod my head thinking as much as I can see the resemblance. Maybe her mind was confusing familiarity with attraction, mistaking something safe for something else entirely. Maybe it was because they looked so alike that her brain didn’t know where to place him, didn’t know which box he belonged in.

He raised his eyebrow to look at her, fighting to keep his thumping heart steady and to control his nervousness. Courtney looked at his expression, he wasn't shocked and he didn't get angry and ask her why she will think something like that, he looked so composed and even treated her question nonchalantly, she let out a sigh and looked away from him, maybe she is wrong, maybe it's not the way she thought, maybe he just really love her as his sister as everybody else believes, maybe she is just over thinking things, after all, how can a brother love his sister intimately? My sister won't breathe a word; she's always been like that. I focus on washing the dishes, placing the plates and utensils in their rightful places. Finally, I'm finished. Sarah is always at her happiest and loudest when she is with Aiden and Bryan, especially with Aiden. It is not surprising. Of course, Aiden is her best friend.
