I hated it, and I couldn't wait to leave this place. As I approached the exit door, a maid walked up to me. “Good morning, my lady. Are you going out for a workout?” she asked, and I nodded. “Why don't you use the gym room? There is a gym room in that corner; it's huge and has all that you would need for a workout,” she suggested, and I smiled at her. “Thank you, let me check it out,” I said, and she led me to the gym room. When I got in, I realized she was right; the gym room was huge. Every piece of equipment was in the right place, and I smiled at the perfection of the place. “Thank you,” I said to the maid, who bowed and left.

“Any proposals or addendums since our last meeting? “I have a proposal,” Veronica speaks up, holding up a perfectly manicured hand, as she uses her other hand to adjust her stylish glasses around her short blond hair. “Every year we play several small games and have several targets. What if we tried something different? What if we have a game that lasts all year with a single target?” “That might sound fun at first,” Simon blurts without bothering to wait his turn or raise his hand, his muscles flexing as he bends forward in his tight school shirt. “But wouldn’t it get boring?”

The typing dots lingered. Bad Boy: Guide me? To where? Your God? Or your bedroom? My stomach dropped. I clenched my thighs together under the table, fighting the rush that pooled low in my belly. Gloria: Don’t be disrespectful. This isn’t a game. Bad Boy: Everything’s a game, pastor’s wife. Some people just too holy to admit they like to play. I sucked in air, my heart thrumming painfully. He wasn’t letting up. He wasn’t like the brothers in church who lowered their gaze, who bowed with Yes ma, No ma.

A few medals and awards were displayed just outside of the dinning too but I paid no attention to that. My sharp claws were out and I inscribed “ivy” in bold letters on the wooden dining table. The entire dining room is a square table with just four seats, one on each side which is understandable for a family as small as theirs, they don’t even seem to take visitors much.
