All of a sudden, the whole light when off again, and this time it was followed by a series of deafening gunshots in the air as everyone started to scream! Carlos pulled into the driveway and got down from the car together with two of Lorenzo’s men. Her heartbeat lurched thinking about the party...there would be so many people. Sensing her inner meltdown, Lorenzo held her hands and caressed them gently. “It’s just a party…You don’t need to feel scared.” She smiled and nodded then they exited the car. A dark green carpet ran along the lawn to one side of the house leading to the impressive grounds at the rear.Lorenzo had a protective arm around her, resting his hand on her waist as they followed the green carpet with a steady stream of Barcelona’s elite dressed in their finery and wearing all manner of jewelries,the lanterns lightning the way.

Lux stood there for a long time before quietly saying, "I'm doing well now." The wind rolled down from the hillside, carrying the scent of damp earth and grass. She had just set down the flowers when footsteps sounded behind her. Lorenzo had come. He was dressed entirely in black. His face looked colder than before, but also more exhausted. He did not walk to her side. Instead, he stopped in front of the grave, slowly bent his knees, and knelt. This was the third promise he had made to her. "I'm sorry," he said quietly.

His eyes locked onto mine, filled with a haunted expression. "What happened?" I asked softly, my voice coaxing. "What's haunting you?" Lorenzo's voice was barely audible, a whispered confession that seemed to come uncontrollably and unintentionally. "My past... it's still haunting me." I tightened my grip, my hands rubbing gently against his skin. "You're safe now," I whispered. "I'm here." Lorenzo slowly released himself from my embrace, his eyes still locked on mine. He gazed at me with an intensity that made my heart skip a beat.

“Hurry, Father. You must help Ian!” Adam steeled his nerves, took a deep breath, and forced his legs to take him across the hot, charred ground as fast as he could. He had to weave around a few spirits who were so opaque and dense that they could have easily passed as real people. He debated whether they were even aware of him as they moved aimlessly about in a zombie like manner.

“Lorenzo, where are you?” she called again, her voice trembling. The house seemed to hold its breath, as if hiding secrets in its very walls. Georgina moved cautiously through the house, her heart pounding in her chest. As she entered, from where she stood, she found Lorenzo’s room door opened. She was met with an unsettling sight—Lorenzo sat on his bed, his normally impeccable attire disheveled, and his gaze fixed on a distant point as if lost in thought.
