The Lancaster family crest gleamed on the doors. "Darling," she purred. "Did you really think we wouldn't find out?" Adam backed away, his pulse erratic. "Lucia—" But Lucia wasn't looking at him. She was staring at Eve with dawning horror. "You knew," she whispered. "You knew this would happen." Eve's laugh slithered through the penthouse. She held up a syringe filled with clear liquid. "The Lancasters always clean up their messes." The last thing Adam saw before the world went black:

"Because the rain is not burning her. It is feeding her." Julian froze. The bright violet light under his skin flickered. He took a slow breath. "Explain." The head scientist typed a new command with shaking fingers. The screen changed. The blurry thermal image of the courtyard vanished. Now, a massive 3D model of Eva’s body floated in the air. It showed her bones, her veins, her heart. But it was not blue. It was not the dark, corrupted purple of the Creators. It was glowing with a blinding, beautiful gold.

"Master Lucien is the epitome of sin and seduction. Don't get caught in his trap, or you'll never have a chance to leave this place with your brother." His expression became slightly more serious. "That's a warning." Then he shrugged. "But if you end up loving him..." He smiled. "That's fine too." I didn't pay much attention to what he said. But his words stayed with me. I knew Lucien was dangerous. But there were still so many things I didn't understand. Everything here was hazy. Questionable. And full of secrets. Why me? Why had Lucien—the vampire devil—chosen to keep me here as his blood source? Of all the humans out there... Of all the women... Why me?

Two fluffy silver fox ears sprouted atop his head like mischievous antennae of divine gossip. “Oh no no no—!” he gasped, quickly slapping a leaf on his head with practiced panic. The leaf shimmered once, and the ears vanished. He looked around, cheeks puffed in embarrassment. Good. No witnesses. Not even that creepy vending machine ghost. Yin coughed, smoothing down his hair with faux dignity. “Anyway, yes. She’s definitely the one. Nexus’s whole ‘the land shall choose the spirit-bearing flame born in rust’ nonsense? Yeah. Selena literally works in Vermillion Cyberspace. Couldn’t get more prophetic if it slapped us.”

A couple was having sex on the desk. The girl’s straddling a guy, grinding her hips while flipping her hair like a whip. Her naked boobs bounced like two freaking melons. She casually turned her head and she saw me. “FUCK!” she screamed. I hastily wanted to back out of the room. But it was too late. The guy lying on the desk turned his head to me. He’s got dark hair, green eyes, and the face of an angle. Ezra Ravenshire. The Lycan King’s heir narrowed his eyes at me. The expression on his face turned deadly.

A few seconds had barely passed after I agreed when the door opened and a tall, lanky man with shrewd eyes and shaggy hair confidently strolled in, stopping short when he spotted me and the Lycan King. “Damian, wh-what is…?” The man stammered, his eyes bouncing from me to Damian. The Lycan King casually slid up next to me, placing a hand on my waist and grinned. “Lucas, this is Aviana, my Luna!”

Derek's real name is Travis Charlie. "You were dead, weren't you?" Elrod questioned. "Were you the one that killed me?" Derek questioned him back with a loud laughter. This heated moment was becoming very tough for Elrod. Is he going to survive? Or maybe he had some hidden men somewhere because he doesn't even look bothered. You looking for me to bargain for my soul or something?” Lucifer chuckled lightly, which for some reason Eva enjoyed. She found it somewhat endearing. And because of that, it disarmed her somewhat. But she still kept her guard up. “Something like that,” said Lucifer. “I’m only here to offer my services, nothing more.”

“It’s strange because I no longer feel like I’m split in the middle. I know I’m Apolliana, but I also know that I’m Lana, and we’re both at peace. I’m no longer angry or out of control. I’m just happy to be here with you.” Lucifer lifts his head and rests his chin on top of my tummy. His hair is slightly tousled, and his jaw is stubbled, making me sigh with pleasure. He’s so beautiful that he takes my breath away. Lucifer rests sweet kisses over my stomach before he whispers, “I never officially asked you this. And I realize I’m a total git that I took this for granted before, but will you be my mate, Lana? Will you be my love forever.” he asks. I nod my head, “Yes, I’ll be your love forever
