FATED ESCAPE
Although we stop, we don’t go inside.
As I peer up at the sky, I wonder when it darkened from evening into night. “I think I want to stay out here for a while, just stare up at the stars.” “You’ll fall asleep,” Mack warns me.
I shrug. “I’m the Luna, you’ll carry me inside.”
“Will I?” Mack sets to work tickling me until I’m crying with laughter. Since a plastic lounger isn’t the sturdiest thing in the world, my attempt to evade his hands upsets the lounger and we spill out onto the soft grass.
