Alpha Leo’s POV She looked at me with confusion in her eyes. She couldn't believe what I said for a moment as her mouth opened and closed on its own. “What… What was the meaning of what you just said? Games and rules? Why would an Alpha play games in his mansion? Are you going to create some gaming stations in the mansion where you and I will be playing games?” She asked, feigning ignorance, but it was clear to me that she knew that wasn't what I meant.

Diane repeated, her face pale. Ellen clutched Peter’s arm. “You said they’d be okay!” “I said they’re alive,” Margaret corrected. “But this journey is dangerous. They have to gather the anchors to return.” Michael leaned forward, his face dark with anger. “And what happens if we try to play the game to get them back?” Margaret’s eyes flashed. “Don’t even think about it. The game is designed for the ones it chooses. If you try to enter their world without being called, it will destroy you. Your only choice is to trust them.”

I ask Archer. “It’s not an easy thing to bring up.” I turn my head down, carefully considering my words. “We’re having a baby together, Archer. There’s going to be a lot of things that aren’t easy.” Watching his face, I debate on whether to go on or not. The words are there, wanting to come out and be confessed. I bring my hand to his chest, rubbing the hem of his collar between my fingers. “Do you remember when I said it felt like you were playing a game with me?”

Bill gives us both a childish smile and I groan in annoyance. Bill is notorious for his stupid bets. He loves a good gamble, but since I refuse to let him do so in a real environment, we agreed he could make bets with others on small things. Things like who might fall asleep on night duty and the likes. His most recent bet was on how long it would take Harriet to bed me. I left out that she had already been trying for some time. He feels cheated by my win on that bet. Now he is looking for that win with this new one.

She felt naked. "Anika, tell me something." Why didn’t you come along with the others assuring me that your ad agency will propel Cass Pharmaceuticals to the top?" Her lips curled into a smile. "Because you are already at the top?" "You're such a tease." Her smile vanished at that point. He was correct. She was flirting, which was the furthest thing from her mind. She looked across the room to where the other ad executives were staring holes in her and Casper.

“We’re survivors, and that monster isn’t going to win.” From her expression, she doesn’t believe me. The doubt is creeping back in and I understand. Talking and doing are two different things. The time for making promises is over and action is the only thing that will allow us to sleep at night. The bastard will die. Melina breaks into our conversation. “How about a game of Spades,” she says, pulling a deck of cards from the side table. “We can play partners and pretend we’re ordinary women with too much time on our hands.”

" I ran back to my room and thought of how I could give it to Mandy and Liam. I flicked my fingers three times after a moment when I was in Mandy's room. I see a glass of apple juice on her study table, I slowly come to her study table and put a drop of love magic spell on her apple juice. It is not hard for me to do these things I guess? The next stop will be at Liam House. But, wait, where is Liam House? Before I think about that, I need to be sure that Mandy will drink her apple juice, not too long of waiting. Mandy comes inside her room and I let her hide on a curtain so that she will never notice me.

Neither team was playing particularly poorly, which made for an interesting game but didn't do much to help the spectators' nerves. "How many more innings are there?" I asked at the next cross-over. "Seven after this one," Conner explained. "So nine in total." "For real?" I asked, expecting maybe four or five. "This game lasts forever."

I feel pity for the big guy. Right now, Roman and I are in a stand-off against his cousins Menandro and Lara in a game called Sapo. It meant Choke the Frog, but without an actual frog. A figurine frog sat on top of an erected log in the middle of the garden. Each team has ten gold coins and all we have to do is aim for the frog’s mouth, choke the figurine. It was easier said than done. Each team hasn’t been able to choke the freaking open-mouthed frog yet. We only have four coins left for each team. Menandro missed another shoot. Lara’s aim was no good as well.
