"We have to figure this out, Amber. Mom and Dad will be furious. You know they hate being the talk of the world. At least for the bad stuff."
"I know. I'm grimacing."
"We'll figure it out," Levi guarantees confidently.
"You better," Matt says, but he does so with no seriousness in his voice. The first smile of the morning finally appears on his lips.
I smile, relieved to have found a way to make my brother believe in me again.
After a while, Matt leaves. He has a lot to do, he says, but he'll be back soon.
"It went well, didn't it?" Levi whispers as he hugs me, kissing my ear.
