The water was mixed with blood and suddenly I was nervous because aren't sharks sensitive to blood? What if the MEG is here? That might just turn us into a toothpick. The two mermaids looked at us and suddenly their mouths opened without a sound. They seem to be talking but we can't hear anything!

She was at the last stage of the pearl making. "What is your identity? Oh, sorry, female mermaids don't have an identity. What's your name then?" The mermaid's eyes flashed red. She would have resorted to lying but she knew witches could sense a false statement. "I am Meridia, assistant to the head of our council."

He blinked them away, continuing his rant when Nathaniel remained silent. "And please tell me the truth... You can't be Nathaniel Hemlock; he is just a legend from my town; there isn't even proof that he existed, just pirate texts, but they also claimed that mermaids were real, and we all know that's fake!" The silence was weighty as Nathaniel considered his response, leaning back to watch the flicker of the candle. It would have been understandable for one to think he would not reply at all.

What he was saying wasn’t insensible as it was common for other races to target the coming-of-age period of the mermaids/mermen to attack and capture them before selling their parts for fortunes. Everything that a mermaid possessed from head to tail was valuable and a once-in-a-red-moon treasure, and so being caught by any race especially humans meant complete dissection in order to sell the important parts- which was literally everything.

It was said that they were the closest to the Sea God in the past. They had always hated the Ceroman Clan. There were many conflicts between the two clans. Basically, the Ceroman Clan had never won. When the Ceroman Clan heard that the army of the Mermaid Clan was approaching, their hearts were in their mouths.

My mermaid's teeth clench and I can feel the sharp edges of them like little sharp daggers entombed in my mouth. "This is the Siren's Point Cave. It's where mermaids come to hide from pirates and humans. There are so many humans in boats now, sea maids can't be too careful. Which is why some of us chose to live on land for a time. We wanted to learn the ways of humans and discovered that werewolves and vampires are much worse than humans."

I ask. “I am Mariana, the princess of Lamia Ocean,” she introduced herself. “Does that mean that in Lamia?” She nodded to me, and we both looked up when we both felt something. She held my hand, and then we swam away. While swimming, I looked up and saw a ship following us. “They are pirates who catch mermaids to sell and make money. The entire Lamia Ocean is in danger because our race is now running out,” Mariana explained.

Xiao Chen and the mermaid approached the ship, where the entire crew was unconscious, either in the sea or still on board. Seeing this, the mermaid wanted to kill them, but Xiao Chen stopped her because he had a beautiful scene to show them. Xiao Chen checked around the ship and confirmed that everyone was still alive, albeit unconscious. With a snap of his fingers, Xiao Chen made all hundreds of pirate crew members float in the air, stiffly upside down with their heads facing upward.

He had transformed into his sixteen foot dragon when about three hundred rogues ran towards them. Mariana was fighting alongside Lee, she couldn't use any of her witch powers. The shield keeping the battle within its perimeters was taking a lot of her energy. She fought using her mermaid claws, decapitating anyone who got to close to her. A rogue merman using his gift of illusion, made over a hundred rogue wolves appear. So the warriors were not fighting rogues, they’d been fighting an illusion.
