Coach Alex: Book 1 of the Alaska Aces Hockey Series

Coach Alex: Book 1 of the Alaska Aces Hockey Series

Her hand is small and soft in mine and it feels so good to touch her again. “Does the dark affect you?” I ask. Living in Alaska means long dark winters. It usually gets dark about four o'clock in the afternoon with the sun setting at three-forty-five on the shortest day. It wont start to get light again until the following day at about ten o'clock am with the sun rising at ten-fifteen am on the shortest day. The further north, the less daylight and I suspect we will get about four hours of daylight in North Pole this time of year. At least we get lucky in the summers though and we won't get complete darkness for about six weeks. A lot of people hate the summers, but I love the daylight be

Independence Is a Good Look On Her

Independence Is a Good Look On Her

Even though the three of them weren't in close contact, just sitting near each other generated some warmth in a short time. Perhaps it was truly working, or maybe it was just a psychological effect, but the close proximity seemed to help. At dawn, Miranda's fever finally broke, and her breathing became steadier. Paul and Sam both let out a sigh of relief. Fatigue washed over them, and both of them began to doze off. … Sunlight pierced through the thick clouds and casted a golden light on the snowy mountain peaks. It was another rare sunny day during the winter. At this time, the dew still had not evaporated. The gentle breeze blew, creating a serene and tranquil scene.

This is a good book. I enjoyed reading it. It’s been a week now with no new chapters. At least end the book with an ending instead of just left it hanging. It’s getting more interesting & I know the readers would like to continue reading it. You know the feeling without closure, no satisfaction.......
adowhatever

RUN AWAY LOVE

RUN AWAY LOVE

Rhoda remarked. "Perhaps a luminous reflection of the twilight zone," Rudolf speculated, "since it's half past six and sunsets provide techniques for the night to spread the darkness." "Perhaps those are US military missiles?" Rhoda asks. "We'll see in the future," Rudolf stated again, "as you said, everything has its seasons."

The Eclipse Secret Child

The Eclipse Secret Child

The North Spire of the Midnight Maw was a place of endless twilight, even when the sun was supposed to be at its zenith, the thick, obsidian-infused stones of the tower seemed to drink the light, leaving only a cool, violet glow that didn't hurt my eyes. For the first time in eighteen months, the constant, low-grade fever I’d carried, the byproduct of siphoning Kaelen’s excess solar energy had broken, I felt cold, a deep, hollow cold that originated from my womb and radiated outward to my very fingertips.

Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the Beast

Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the Beast

"It’s... it’s heavy. It stays under my nails. Kaima, it’s real!" I didn't stop. I drew a line across the horizon. *"I write a sun that isn't a lamp,"* I whispered. A pale, watery light began to bleed through the grey fog. It wasn't the blinding gold of the simulation. It was a weak, winter sun—the kind that struggles to warm your skin but reminds you that you’re alive. It cast long, honest shadows across the mud. **[WARNING: NARRATIVE DEVIATION DETECTED]**

His Midnight Luna

His Midnight Luna

I was going to die. The only question was how. A sound outside made everyone freeze. Not a normal sound. Not wind or animals or anything natural. A humming. Low. Resonant. Like the air itself was vibrating. “What is that?” Falcon moved toward the window. The moonlight streaming through the broken glass flickered. Like a light bulb about to die. But the moon didn’t flicker, it should be constant and still. Except it wasn’t. The light dimmed. Brightened. Dimmed again.

Moonlit Pages

Moonlit Pages

Verena opened up the book to show how blank it was, saying, "This would only work under the moonlight." Galen nodded, "She is right," he said. "You would be able to read it under the full moon's light." "Rena, you should-" Galen was stunned. He stopped midsentence since he realized that Verena was spacing out. She held the book Lunaria and flipped through its pages as tears started forming in her eyes. "What's wrong, Rena?" he asked. "Why are you crying?" Zoren rushed to make her face him. "What's wrong?" he rushed to ask. "Are you feeling alright? Are you hurt? What's going on? Tell me!"

The Billionaire’s Regret Clause; One Year Together. One Love

Ernest said. "January or February," Don said. "The darkest month or the one after. I want to experience the dark properly, not at its edges." He looked at the book. "The book says that the people of northern Norway have a word for the quality of light in the winter dark. It translates roughly to 'the blue hour' but that is not accurate. The quality is specific to the winter, to the snow reflecting what little light there is, to the particular angle of the sun when it is below the horizon but not far below." He looked at Ernest. "I want to see that. Not read about it. See it."

Winning Her Back

He turned to me, a spark of genuine intellectual curiosity in his eyes. The knot in my chest loosened slightly. He saw the work. "Not challenging," I found myself saying, drawn into the conversation despite my nerves. "Complementing, maybe. Or confronting? The Midnight Sun is relentless, all-encompassing. This feels like the shadow it casts. The complexity underneath the brilliance." The words surprised me; I hadn’t articulated it quite that way before.

Midnight, the Half-Wolf

Midnight, the Half-Wolf

I grab her hand to make her get up, "And I promise that when you send me that video we agreed on... I'll send you something, too." "Okay," she agrees, almost immediately and starts to cooperate. We walk out carefully because I don't want to confront my brother and once we're safe, we walk to Owl's chatting quietly. Midnight is talking more than usual and about things I honestly don't understand, "... so, according to Federico Quintanilla, the molecular follicle that we all discard every hour for dead cells is exactly what makes the stratosphere slowly deteriorating, but this has been going on since 1939 when world..."
