She was just in there. Staring at the empty ceiling, feeling the world as it goes around her. In the warm glow of the lamp, her fears won't fade away. Just like all her other nights, this one is not different. She still cannot sleep no matter how she shut her eyes. Her brain is a train-wreck, nudging her to open her eyes and be alert of something not existing. And she complied. Her eyes darted from one dark corner to the next until it had scanned 360 over her tiny bedroom, at last it landed on her Stitch alarm clock, the long hand silently pointing to twelve. With a sigh, she jerked up, opened the drawer of her bedside table and groped for a tiny bottle -her saving grace. She took

*** END OF FLASHBACK (A/n: This is narration for all of our characters. “GRANDMA!” Scarlett woke up in the middle of the night, hugging herself, her tears streaming down her cheeks. She’s not sure if that night really happened because it was the last time she saw and was with her grandmother, and regardless of what she did, she couldn’t remember anything, and it always visited in her dreams. Scarlett was stunned in her bed and appeared to be out of her mind because of the nightmare she had witnessed. Scarlett was still motionless in the morning, and the Knights appeared to be frustrated about what they had discovered.

The thin sheet of paper trembled in the silence for a long time, like the final echo of a departing voice. Tears finally broke free from Marcel's lashes and splashed onto the letter, landing atop tear stains that had already dried there. "Cedric..." Marcel's fingers tightened around the page until his knuckles turned white. Delilah stared at the neat handwriting covering the letter, her chest filling with an indescribable ache. The man who had always listened to them, who had grinned foolishly and declared himself the happiest person in the world, had been forced by their betrayal to grow wings.

Ava sat on the floor, her back resting on the queen-size mattress, her shirt, and black undies a stark contrast to the darkness that consumed her. She gazed out the window, the moon's gentle light casting an ethereal glow on her skin. Her eyes, weak and watery from crying, seemed to hold a thousand unspoken words. The tears had long since dried, but the pain remained, a constant ache that refused to subside.

“You let me cry a bucket, but why now? Why ask for my heart, when you already hurt me?” He opened his eyes. “The things you made is scary. It was something, which I fear the most.” She could feel how genuine Midnight was as he continue. “I saw my old man drowning himself from the pain my mother caused. I watch him rot, and lost himself, Rio.” Rio gasp. “I—I didn’t know...” She haven’t had any idea that Midnight had a rough childhood.

I shut my eyes, and my tears fall. . c.m. louden

Midnight yelled, incredibly mad at his request for me to let him go. “Midnight, This is for the best.” I tried to comfort Midnight but she wasn't letting it go. He suddenly removed his one hand and clutched the cloth over his can't tightly, clawing his heart. “It hurts...so.....much....” His eyes dropped to the floor, and I can see droplets of his tears leak from his eyes as he sobbed. The sight in front of me was pulling on my heart strings that I also placed one hand on my chest in a bid to calm my beating heart.

The way the door had closed behind him without a word of goodbye. She hadn’t cried. Not once. But now, with the clock ticking past midnight and no sign of him, the tears had begun to well in her eyes, hot and slow, like they were being dragged from a place too deep to reach. One slid down her cheek. Then another. And then she was shaking soundless, breathless sobs she couldn’t control anymore.

Upstairs, she got in bed to spend what she knew would be the worst night of the last fifteen years, since her parents had died, give or take. Maybe if she listened to a little music? She spent the next hours playing a single song on repeat, Natalie Imbruglia’s Hide Behind the Sun, until she had no tears left to cry. Midnight found her wide awake, staring up at the moon out the window, struggling to face her own feelings.
