He clenched his hands and huffed, "Ingrid, you can't go back—"
His speech cut off abruptly as his gaze fell upon the object I was holding. He was stunned to see it.
It was a prosthetic leg.
Charles mumbled, "You…"
I said, "I invested in a medical equipment company a while back. This is their newest model—001. You'll be its first and last owner."
As those words left my lips, I smiled warmly at him.
Charles slowly let out the breath he had been holding. Then, he smiled too.
"This belongs exclusively to me, then?" he asked breathlessly.
