she said coyly, bewaring to meet her eyes with him. It was a unique tattoo. She hadn't seen it before anywhere. It didn't mean she looked for people's tattoos in public. It was a beautiful sword with a heavy and finely curved handhold. Two snakes were crawling around the sharp blade of the sword and facing each other, above the handhold angrily ready to attack. " Thanks, " he smiled. " Is this some kind of a symbol? " she asked. " Hm, Mafia King. " He said, pulling over the car in front of the hospital.

Standing in front of a full-length mirror, Destiny stared at the lines on her body. Her mother's tattoo had been more like a maze, lines ran apart from each other, but always running parallel. Hers were more floral. It looked like vines had grown all over her body. It gracefully followed the curve of her hips and breast. Likewise, it ran double helices down the sides of her legs and her spine. It flowered up at the base of her neck and was embedded with lotus blossoms. Normally, she wasn't into flowery designs, but this tattoo was fascinating, there was something powerful, mystical about it. They looked more like tribal flowers rather than Hawaiian shirt flowers. That would have been very un

Then it became worth my attention. I leaned in. The figure moved fast—too fast to spot anything in the first frame. The second frame was where I caught almost everything I wanted. First a flash, then a forearm exposed as the man pivoted to fire. And then I saw a mark, the undeniable prove that the man was indeed the guy I’ve suspected he was. He had a tattoo. This wasn’t the kind of fancy snake tattoos you got on a dare or during a midlife crisis. This mark had a meaning that was too familiar to ignore. An ouroboros curled around a caduceus—medicine’s polite way of saying “We hold your life by the throat.”

Of course, whoever was with the woman probably needed somewhere nice to sit as it took a while with this sort of thing. “You and me both” she said, “but I gotta say some of those looked alright, we definitely haven’t found YOUR dress yet.” She wasn’t wrong, some of them had been decent enough, but none that really won me over. Exasperated I shook out my low ponytail, twisted my hair, and shoved it up into a sloppy bun on the top of my head. I heard a gasp and turned to see the saleslady staring at me. I realized, belatedly, that my tattoo was visible. In the mob, or mafia as it was typically called, we had distinguishing marks; one of the most frequent being strategically placed tattoos. Thi

Without hesitation, I fetched my phone out of my pocket and browsed on the internet what it meant if someone had a tattoo of a scorpion on his wrist. Some images were displayed on my phone screen and even before I could read out the content behind the scorpion tattoo, someone already beat me to it. "It symbolizes the membership of a well-known dangerous gang known as the Gun fire men." A familiar deep voice rung out loud from behind.

The ones lined around and up his arms were normal. But the ones the crawled up to his back, shoulders and neck didn’t look ordinary. On the side of his back, crossing to his shoulder and a certain path that crawled up to his neck looked like a chained bird that got loose. That loose chain was the crawling one on his neck. “What does this tattoo mean?” I asked, hoping he’d answer me. Martil sighed, puffing smoke into the room. “It’s an Omertà.” “What’s that?” The name itself sounded strange.

“We’re going to keep it simple…” “Like?” “Since we’re going to be together…” I paused turning his back towards the bed and pushing him unto it… “I want the tattoo to spell out ‘mio’” “…Meaning?” He asked raising a brow at me “It means…” I paused then stared at him “Jerk” “Really?” “Just kidding” “What does it mean?” “Look it up… that’s what I’m going to be tattooing on your wrist” “But tell me what it means first”

That night, Henry finally let go of all restraint. The room lay in shadow, and he pressed me against the floor-to-ceiling window, the lights of Riverton flickering like stars beyond the glass. “Claire…” “Yes?” “I want to get another tattoo.” “Where?” He gripped my hand and pressed it to his lower back, mirroring the spot that corresponded to mine. There, with each of his breaths, a faint outline of a feral totem emerged. “I want to tattoo your image. I want to carve you into my bones forever.”

It was an intricate design, since every swirl formed a letter, and the words VENI VIDI VICI could be formed near the outline of the word LUNA. Michael remembers that the tattoo was already on his body ever since he was a little boy. He thought it was a birthmark until his brother explained the meaning of it to him. He recalled his brother explaining to him that the moment their mother died of childbirth, Gabriel Mezzaluna decided to tattoo the baby boy when he would reached the age of six months old. His brother Gabriel explained to him that he did it because their mother had the same tattoo on the same spot, and he knew that the baby wouldn’t remember the pain of the tattoo, so it was bette
