His eyes darkened further, and his hands clenched into fists. “You think I owe you answers?” he growled, stepping closer. His voice dropped to a low, menacing whisper. “You’re nothing but a vessel. You exist to serve my purpose. You will give me what I want.”
“No,” Gaia said, her voice trembling but defiant. “You won’t get anything from me. I won’t let you.”
The figure lunged at her, his hand wrapping around her neck with inhuman strength. Gaia gasped, clawing at his arm as her feet left the ground. Her vision blurred, the pressure on her throat unbearable as she struggled to breath.
