My Husband Is An Open Book
“Harriet, are those your true feelings?”
Even though I could no longer hear Zachary’s thoughts at that moment, I knew he was seeking a definite answer, and I no longer required any certainty from him. For I had already understood, since the day I married him, and through countless nights awakened by his thoughts, that he loved me.
What began as desire had, at some point, turned into care, tenderness, and an undeniable possessiveness.
Hence, I nodded firmly.
“I am certain, Zachary. You have moved my heart more than once. I do not speak falsely when I say our marriage is a happy one, nor do I wish to change it. I would be glad to spend the rest of my life with you.”
