I pleaded as my hands caressed down her hair romantically. “You weren't expecting me?” she asked, frowning a little bit. I knew prolonging the conversation would result in another disagreement. Before she could continue her nagging, I leaned close to her, my lips sucking in the words from her mouth. “I love you,” I whispered, my eyes piercing into hers. I could see the smile tugging by the side of her lips. The knocking on the door disrupted our romantic atmosphere. “Who is it?” I asked, with a hint of frustration in my voice.

She did her best to listen to the different genres of music just to see if it would work, but it didn’t, so she came up with the idea to watch tons of romance movies just to get some inspiration, and luckily; it worked. “What was your novel all about?” Zeno asked while they were eating. Annalise stopped slicing the pork and looked at him, who was eating peacefully, “A man fell in love with a woman who just came to be his wife because of the agreement.” Zeno suddenly choked when heard her answer. Because of that, the maid panicked and offered him a glass of water. “Are you okay?” Annalise asked him when she witnessed him choke. “Yeah,” he responded. “Are you planning to publish that?”

The current me was undesirable for any man, and my heart ached terribly. Still, I could not understand why Reynold kept me around even though he did not love me. He could have just told me, and we would have divorced. Yet, not only did he take away my ability to have children, but he even cheated and betrayed me, In the end, I didn't visit the doctor. Wise man. The shopkeeper finally noticed me. His eyes flicked over my clothes. He found them simple but well-tailored. Understated but expensive. His smile sharpened.

He didn't answer, Instead, he stood and walked to the window, parting the heavy drapes. Rain had started to fall outside, pattering softly against the glass. "Isabella was once loyal," he said at last. "But something changed, revenge, you see she was in love with me. I should have seen it coming." I suspected that. "Did you both... You kno-" "Yes," he said cutting me off. So she isn't just a love interest, but an actual lover. The thought sent a weird feeling through me... I can't possibly be jealous right?

I hate both of them. “Tomorrow,” Alexander says smoothly before I can disconnect. “Nine a.m. Don’t be late, sweetheart.” Then the line goes dead. I stare at my phone in disbelief. The audacity. “The sweetheart thing would absolutely work on me by the way,” Emily says helpfully. I glare at her. She drops dramatically into the chair opposite my desk. “So,” she says excitedly, “office romance?” “There is no romance.”

As sleep crept in, Tiana realized something new. Love wasn’t just softness. It was confrontation. It was saying the hard things. It was refusing to let the other person become someone they were trying not to be. And for the first time… She knew they were building something real.

She heard Irene scream in excitement, "what the hell are you guys doing?" "Oh, oh," Tasha and Irene turned to face her, "This is so good, Elle!" Irene ran to her and hugged her, "This is awesome!" "what are you talking about?" She frowned. "The book, who said you can't write romance? This book is so good! I can't even explain it in words," Irene squealed. "You liked it?" Elle smiled at her. "I loved it!" "I didn't know you could write a romance novel," Tasha blinked in surprise. "Dude, it's like you've poured your heart out," Tasha couldn't believe her eyes.
