Panic threatened to take hold, but Alex's reassuring grip on my hand kept me grounded. "Stay with me, Sophia," Alex whispered. "We've been through worse. We'll find our way out." But before I could respond, a soft hum resonated through the darkness, growing steadily louder. As the sound intensified, the corridor's walls began to pulsate with radiant, mesmerizing light. Shapes and figures danced within the luminance, revealing glimpses of our past, the challenges we'd overcome, and fleeting images of what might lie ahead.

Sitting in the dark all night fighting shadows And the urge to call you up, hits me like an arrow It ain’t the whisky talking Or the loneliness I’m feeling It’s the memories of the little things That keep me from healing I stopped strumming and singing as soon as my eyes were flashed by a light. “Oh we’re sorry.” I covered my eyes with the back of my hand until I felt the light off of my face which allowed me to lock my eyes on three ladies standing right before me. The one with a shoulder length hair quickly adds, “We didn’t mean to flash our light at your face like that.”

I prayed to the moon goddess that maybe in my next life, I would be better, I would do better, maybe I would even be a lycan and not have to be beneath anyone. The light began to grow brighter and bigger, I shielded my eyes as it became blinding, and waited as the light grew around me, defeating the darkness and engulfing me in such a safe and comforting hold. I smiled ruefully, as the light started to consume me. There was something holding me back though, this feeling that someone was pulling me back, but that didn't matter as the light was here, the light had come and I wasn't going back. “I'm coming Dad, I'll see you soon." And finally, I let the light consume me totally.

"Nothing. Just a little carsick." "You're so delicate," she said with a scoff. "Just like your dad." I closed my eyes and forcefully swallowed the metallic taste rising in my throat. I didn't want to come back here anymore if I could be reborn again. The car drove on for five hours. It was dark by the time we arrived at the huge mansion located halfway up the mountain. The place was flooded with lights. However, it was as quiet as death itself. "We're here," Mom said, parking the car and touching up her lipstick. Then, she inhaled deeply as she reconditioned herself.

There is no moon so it is not very bright outside but because of the stars, there is very little light spreading around. I felt Colby step away from me. I turned to him and saw that he had turned his back on me while he was mowing. I was left staring at him. I don’t know what I should think. Should I still trust him? I didn’t expect that part of Colby’s personality. The more he knew me and every word that came out of his mouth, it seemed like it was hitting me.

"Claire, the wolf inside me weeps for your leaving. Stay as my Luna, will you?" I backed away, putting distance between us. Could someone who had not seen the light in three years suddenly turn over a new leaf in three days? No way. I shook my head with a light smile. "Darren, you've had ninety-nine chances over these three years. Everything could have been different if you had kept your promise just once. The wolf inside me was yearning to break free. I could not help but smile. "If you really care about me, you'll let me go. Set me free."

"I will use my light to heal everyone." As the room buzzed into action with a renewed sense of urgency, I let Aura's light swirl within me, guiding me. I knew it would be a long night, but the first flicker of hope had been ignited. With each life needing restoration, we’d push back the shadows challenging our world.

“Show me what you got.” I flick my light, brightening the room like a sunny day, and he laughs, shadows dancing with it. “This light’s for you,” I say, aiming a playful spark at him, and he catches it with his shadows, grinning wide. “Burns bright—like us,” he says, pulling me close, kissing me soft, then deep, our bond humming like a storm. “Keep going, sunshine.” “Okay,” I say, laughing, light flaring as I try healing a cut on his hand from the echo fight. “This like when we beat the echo?”

“Together, we can face anything!” The shadows writhed, but the light surged, illuminating their surroundings with a warmth that felt like home. “We won’t give in!” Lyra shouted, her voice filled with newfound strength. “We will embrace who we are!” As the light reached its peak, it erupted into a radiant explosion, engulfing the darkness in a brilliant flash. The shadows screamed, twisting and contorting as the light pierced through the malevolence. “No! You cannot do this!” the figure shrieked, its voice filled with panic.
