Alaric's pov

I approached my father as he took a walk with Mr. Martin Hughes, the prime minister and my father's right hand, also Emily's father.

The man had not always been the prime minister, nor was he always my father's right hand, there were others before him but for some reason he had won my father's trust the most.

I always had a feeling that he was up to something and that he shouldn't be trusted but I couldn't tell my father about it as I knew he might be rash just like every time. My father didn't care about proof and would probably take a drastic action against Mr. Hughes himself which may lead to a chain reaction of events from him and other Lycans in the council as well.

Just like he did with Diana, he needed just Emily's word and he had taken action, I needed to avoid such.

That was why I needed proof first, I also tried as much as possible to delay the crowning ceremony for Emily, she was her father's daughter after all.
