Peggy Carter Captain America の小説・ストーリー

Megan threw her head back, laughing, "Seriously, Cat. That's how you hit on a girl?" Cattleya glared at her, drumming her fingers on Veronica's knee, "Oh hush you. I haven't even started." Veronica raised her head to then inquisitively look up at Megan who simply chuckled, reading her mind, “I’m Megan Brooks. One of Cassandra's friends. Captain of the NYPD.” “…You’re not a model?”

That cocky part of me wanted to wink or flash a grin but I was too locked in. I adjusted my gloves, rolling my shoulders as I skated to the faceoff circle. Carter was already there with the team, warming up. He was crouched in a squat, probably trying to loosen his hips as he scraped his stick over the ice. Captain fucking America. Through the helmet, I could see his jaw was tight and blue eyes narrowed in concentration. I fucking hated him. And I wanted him too.

The ledger was open. But it wasn't a list of betting numbers or offshore bank accounts. It was a payroll registry for the syndicate's top-tier enforcers. And as my eyes adjusted to the harsh light, my breath completely hitched in my throat, the steamy, heavy haze of the backseat instantly evaporating into freezing, paralyzing shock. The top name on the payroll, the man who had been collecting the syndicate's money for ten years, wasn't Coach Miller. It was *David Mercer*. Jaxson’s estranged father.

"Michael brought you to me first, before Daniel. But I didn't realize until it was too late... I wasn't hiding you from Richard Hayes." Damon’s voice dropped low and lethal. "Then who were you hiding her from?" Coach Reed looked toward Richard, then at my weeping mother, and finally back to me. "The man who believed with absolute certainty that Amelia carried his blood." "That's impossible!" I cried out, shaking my head frantically. "The birth certificate says Michael Carter!" "Michael faked the initial registry to protect your mother," Coach Reed revealed quietly. He reached back into his pocket, pulling out a faded, original photograph, and handed it to me.
