Emily blinked. Panicked. Ripped her finger back as if burned, though the warmth of his lips still danced on her skin.
He stared at her. She stared at him.
Then she smiled, a playful and coy expression. “Good morning, my handsome prince,” she whispered with a flutter of lashes.
Charles blinked, startled, slowly sitting up. “What?”
She tilted her head. “Would you prefer ‘good morning, my darling superstar’?”
A groan escaped him as he stood, raking a hand through his tousled hair. “Oh come on, stop it, Emily.”
