By sunset, only Adrian’s people remained. Adrian led her inside, his sharp gaze was all over her. The grand entrance boasted a massive chandelier, dripping with crystal, reflecting light across marble floors polished to perfection. A staircase curled up to the second floor, its golden railings gleaming under the dim lights. Art pieces hung on the walls. There was no doubt this was the home of someone who controlled everything within its walls. "Listen carefully, Seraphina," Adrian finally spoke, turning to face her. "There are rules you will follow if you intend to stay here. Break them, and we will have problems."

Gold swallows hard, focusing on his painting. He started this artwork more than two weeks ago. The lack of time hinders him from painting it perfectly, though as stated, at least it's done. "This is Phoenix in the Fire." He tells everybody, still looking at his work. The portrait is greatly inspired by the polaroid picture he took the first night he and Kolya slept together. The canvas size is 38"W x 75"H, it's big and he can't believe that he's showing this to the public.

Now normally those would be fighting words, but again, this pregnancy had Phoenix so chill that she just dismissed him and kept on until she was satisfied that everything was just so. Gael noticed that the weather had picked up, meaning the wind had increased, and the moisture in the air, so thick, signifying that a heavy rain was coming; and he frowned thinking that it may put a damper on the festivities, but this was an indoor party so Phoenix was unconcerned that the party would be ruined. The most that would happen is that people would get a little wet going into the venue.

“Did your mother tell you the origin of your birth?” Phoenix shrugged. “She did vaguely tell me that I have the power of gods running through my veins but I don’t think she knows about me anymore than I do.” She sighed as she drew her leg to her chest. “If I indeed have the blood of gods in my veins should I not he respected and loved by the people?”
