Plankton Screams Novels & Stories

Fear shakes through my body and creeps up my spine. Vampire clown. They’re the worst kind. I start to cry. He stares. Then backs away. “I’m sorry …” His voice glitches. Warps. Echoes, like dolphin sounds underwater. Then he’s gone. Just gone. I try to move. I can’t. The worms are everywhere now. Crawling over my stomach. Up my arms. Between my fingers. I close my eyes and open my mouth — and scream. “Mel! MEL! Look at me!” A voice slices through the fog.

My scream filled the room. "Elena, enough," the Adrian on-screen said. "Selena planned this for my birthday. Don't ruin it because you can't stand seeing her happy." The real Adrian folded forward as if the sentence had struck him in the stomach. He covered his mouth and retched, but there was nothing left in him to bring up. "She was looking at me," he whispered. He stared at the frozen image of my face above the box. "The whole time, she was looking at me."
