“Yes,” Doctor Jane replied firmly. “That is correct.”
Kate stopped walking.
“You said it was genetic,” Kate continued. “Permanent. No cure.”
“That’s right,” Jane confirmed. “There has never been a cure. There still isn’t.”
Kate’s grip on the phone tightened.
“Then explain something to me,” she said quietly. “How is Klaus’s wife pregnant, claiming my son is the father?”
