With a puzzled expression, I diverted my gaze and saw what he was showing me. I look down at my cappuccino, unable to take a drink. He grins with another low rumbling chuckle. “You’re a psychology student, right?” He asks and I nod as a reply. The guy seems to know everything about me. “Well isn’t it true if you were in effect suffering from some kind of schizophrenic break from reality then shouldn’t this all be something normal for you? A schizophrenic can’t distinguish hallucinations from reality but you seem able to recognize the abnormality of what's happening to you. So essentially that you think you’re insane proves that you are indeed not insane.”

She walks in and sits down, and we both breath out a sigh of relief. I want to believe I've escaped Wesley, but after ten years, I don't have much hope that I have. "So, that was Joker." Ebony smiles at me. "You never mentioned him," I explain. "We weren't allowed. He's my dad’s best friend. They grew up together. My dad is marrying Joker's daughter." My eyes widen. "Your dad is fucking brave." I wouldn't go near anyone in Joker’s family. Let alone his daughter! "He got a few hits for it, but they are friends, so fixed it quickly. Anyway, Joker has bipolar, schizophrenia, multiple personality disorder and some other things. He’s officially crazy," she shrugs.

I shrug. "It would be boring if you used it." He smiles back. "Psychopath is... always there, but not to the visible eye." I think about my fathers kind smile before it morphs into something much more sinister. "It definitely passed yours." I recognize the hateful voice that belongs to Henry Brackintaw. I glance to the left, clashing with his emerald green gaze. The whites of his eyes are red, and his lids are dark with circles. Blond strands of hair fall onto his forehead, shaded by the hood he has pulled up. I couldn’t guess what drug he’s on today; weed, xanax, aderalle. You name it, he’s on it.

If I had spent my time playing, I would've died already. That's just how horrible my life is. And that's why I am a psychopath. There are a lot of other psychopaths around the globe. It's either they decided to be one because of traumas, or they were born with it. I felt a hand on my left thigh, softly brushing its thumb. "Why are you touching me?" I asked Jameson. "You look so depressed. I'm just comforting you," Jameson replied. I looked at his hand softly, gripping my thigh, and I held his hand.

Alexei, the psychopath, still had his smile but it was significantly tighter. He stared at Demetrio hard and I wondered what sick thoughts were going on in his head. Then his face relaxed and he was back to Joker mode as if nothing happened. “I guess we can call it even then,” His smile broadened like he found the situation funny, like he hadn’t been shooting death rays at Demetrio only a few seconds ago. His unsettling eyes rested on me, “Besides, it seemed like I gave you quite an easy choice to make.”
