The sound of cutlery being placed down echoed sharply through the room. Damon's hand had stilled completely, his fingers loosening around the knife as it rested against the plate with deliberate control, but the shift in his presence was immediate, heavy and cold enough that even the servants seemed to shrink further into the corners. You are a monster.” Gray smirked, the corner of his lips wrinkling into a slow, dark expression of pure, calculating amusement as he looked down at my flushed cheeks, his eyes scanning the plunging line of my dress with a proprietary intensity that made my skin crawl. He didn't look remorseful. He didn't care about the pain he had branded into my spirit.

The lady was surprised and confused when he suddenly cut her off. "Y-Yes? I think she placed it on her vanity area." He felt like he was being poured with a glass of cold water when his speculation was confirmed. Hyde remembered it when he went to the victim's vanity table. He remembered what it looked like.
