Lihat lebih banyakIt was a cold freezing night, the loud chattering sound of rain and the succeeding roaring thunder gave such an earful noise inside the residence.
In the middle of the room was a thirteen-year-old Arché—the only son of the family was busy doing his homework while listening to music to avoid the disturbance of the noise outside.
Thirty minutes passed when a very loud thunder echoed along with the shutting down of the lights. Now, everything was dark due to the blackout. Arché reached for his phone and turned on the flashlight.
Then, to look for his parents who were watching TV in the living area, the boy stepped out of his room and went down the stairs. But when he reached the middle of the stairs a loud scream startled him and made his heart skip a beat. He was very sure it was his mother's voice.
The young boy turned off the flashlight and slowly continued to step down until he reached the living area. The quick light from the thunder was the only one illuminating inside.
And when the thunder struck again, a very surprising scene stopped Arche's breathing. His stomach was knotted, his breathing went unstable and tears began to form upon seeing both of his parents lying on the floor. The boy was too stunned to speak, his knees were shaking and his heart has broken into pieces
The unknown man was about to stab his unconscious mother on the ground when the boy ran towards him and pushed him with all his remaining strength.
The man fell to the ground, and that's when the boy found the opportunity to run. But when he attempted to run, he accidentally tripped his foot and fell.
He heard the man laugh wickedly and stepped slowly towards him. The boy begged for his life. But the man continued laughing as if he didn't hear anything. There's no more strength left inside Arche. When the man raised the knife and prepared to kill the feeble boy, Arche cried and closed his eyes, prepared to draw his last breath.
That atrocious night, a loud scream filled the residence just like how the thunderstruck repeatedly in the cold night sky.
"No, " the detective's firm and straightforward response. He already had enough on his plate and didn't want to add something nosy. Hyde finished his coffee and prepared to leave the table when Aries stopped him."I promise, I won't be a burden to the investigation." Aries implied and raised his hand as a sign of his oath. But Hyde had already decided not to let anyone meddle in the investigation. He just breathed frustratingly and was about to have another sip when his phone suddenly rang. Aries remained silent to grasp what they were talking about."Yes? I'll be there." He hung up the call, finished his coffee, and left the table quickly. Aries, who hadn't even gotten a single sip of his drink, left the table and followed Hyde outside."Detective, where are you g
> On the Night of Murder<Rain came pounding on the windowpane. The pattering sounded blistering, biting, and relentless. Compared to the quietness inside, the storm outside was thunderous. In a dark studio-typed apartment room, a man in his thirties sat at the table, intently watching the monitor. One solitary figure hunched over a computer; its glow lit up the dim recesses of an otherwise almost unlit apartment. He had spent hours alone, apparently, in this small cell. Tonight, his fixation had become a frenzy. The screen refreshed a loop of grainy video clips. He had secretly installed cameras in an apartment building a few blocks away with the woman he loved in view.
Hyde sat in his dimly lit office, the only light source being the desk lamp, casting a yellowish glow on the scattered papers and files. He leaned back in his chair, a deep frown creasing his forehead as he scanned the profile and records. He had been staring at them for almost an hour, and he was still stuck on what Bridget had said."Who knows? She might have stuck her nose onto something she shouldn't have."Those lines have kept him bothered since he left the interrogation room. As he began to feel the frustration, Hyde ran his fingers through his hair and heaved a deep breath to get himself together. He grabbed the Rubik's cube and started fiddling with it. The young man only stopped when his gaze darted to the brown envelope containing the things he asked Terence. He took the envelope and first scanned the documents and records of Mirriam Strauss.Mirriam Strauss had been reported missing a week before her body was found in her apartment.
