“Well, you can’t blame me, Beni-Lin.” Her gaze darkens at the nickname. Mine gleams with amusement. “It takes a certain level of obsession to dedicate years to plotting revenge.”
“The revenge is worth it,” she says, “if the enemy scars your face, shoots you, then dumps your body in the sea.”
