OFFSIDE

OFFSIDE

Dara's assistant found me before the first drill. Office. Now. I went. Dara closed the door. He didn't sit down immediately. He stood at his desk and looked at me with the expression of a man who'd been awake earlier than usual processing something and had arrived at a decision about what to do with it. Then he sat. He slid a piece of paper across the desk. A copy of the anonymous filing. The inquiry documentation. I'd seen it before, Callum had shown me. But Dara had circled something at the bottom that I hadn't noticed. Small print. A case reference number.

Too Late, Mr. Cross

Too Late, Mr. Cross

Another message appeared before I finished reading the legal request: He knows something. That one earned my attention. I closed the file and called Reed instead. He answered quickly. “Tell me exactly what Cross requested.” “Original metadata, vendor invoices, chain of custody on the March photograph, and access credentials connected to the Henderson server.” “Who signed the request?” “Cross legal.” “Damian?” “Not personally.” That meant nothing. Damian had always preferred putting his name on the final decision rather than the work required to reach it. “What have you given them?” “Nothing beyond what counsel says we have to.”

Secrets

Secrets

Andrew stood from his chair and grabbed a thick file from a cabinet behind which he handed to her. “That’s the latest standard. Do you have the code of conduct?” Aria nodded, searching through her soft copies to locate the document given to her by Bernadette. “I’ll look over it and see what I come up with, but I need a little more insight on what you guys do there. Does D’Heart Inc. have its own crew or is it leased out to another company?” She enquired, pulling up a notepad.

A splash of reality, never jump to conclusions as we don't know what people are going tru in life that might get them in a position to lie. On the other hand not all lies are acceptable and should be avoided as it can ruin friendships and families. An amazing novel by far!

Wow, I really like Aria. She's someone we can relate to and seems very down to earth... not like other stories on here. I think that's what I really like about this story. It seems like something that can happen in real life. Great start! Very well written!!

UNDISCLOSED

And this last part delivered in the tone of a man who had opinions he was keeping off the record he suggested Darian arrive prepared. Darian ended the call and sat in his hotel room and looked at the city coming alive outside his window. Then he called Cressida. Nia found out at eight forty two. Not from Darian from Imara, who had a contact in the acquisition legal team who had seen the filing land in the system Thursday evening and had sent a message that arrived in Imara's inbox at seven and which Imara had spent forty minutes verifying before she called. "Section fourteen," Imara said, when Nia answered. "Conflict of interest provisions covering personal relationships between senior integ

The Alpha's Hidden Heir

The Alpha's Hidden Heir

He thinks of Andrew telling him that silence will not protect Finn forever. No. Silence will not protect him. But noise made too early could kill him. Rachel turns another page. “There is one more thing.” Dean straightens. Everett knows from her tone that this is why she came in person. Rachel slides a printed screenshot across the desk. It is not a medical file. It is a placement database entry. Clean, administrative, almost boring. Applicant status. Interview schedule. Program assignment. Medical clearance pending. Emergency contact field incomplete. At the top is a name.

He ordained him and disconnected it. A tap came from the glass door. Lifting his hand over his shoulder, he motioned with his fingers. He walked in and stood near the desk, "Boss," He bowed his head. "Take that file. I want details ASAP." Danny grabbed the file and opened it, "Ok, boss." He said, swiping his gaze on the pictures of kids. He turned to the next page. The pictures of young girls not older than Twenty were secured in it, "There's nothing more than pictures, boss." He told him, grasping the first picture.

The Man Who Taught Me Sin

Then she pointed at a big envelope beside her. For a moment I forgot it was even there. "You guys have the result?” I asked as I took the envelope from her. Lara hums. My fingers suddenly felt heavier. Why was I so freaking nervous? For weeks I have been chasing every lead on everything connected to D and D. Anything connected to the bastard who had gotten Kassy pregnant. I take in a deep breath and pull the file out of the envelope. Several sheets slid on my lap. Photographs, employee records…. All basic information. Including background reports.

The Billionaire’s Favorite Mistake

The Billionaire’s Favorite Mistake

Damien was sitting behind the massive desk, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, a phone pressed to his ear. He looked up the second my feet crossed the threshold. His eyes dipped to the letter in my hand, then to my bare legs, before settling on my face. "I don't care about the probate clerk’s schedule, Marcus," Damien said into the receiver, his voice flat and tight. "If the board wants a copy of the marriage certificate, make them request it in writing through the executive committee. We don't volunteer data." He ended the call without waiting for a reply and tossed the phone onto the desk. "What did she say?"

Married Twice, Loved Once

“These need your signature. The logistics approval and—” He didn’t look up. “Why is this printed?” Damian snapped. Aria blinked. “Because you asked for hard copies yesterday.” “I asked for a summary,” he corrected coldly. “Not a stack of paper.” She inhaled, steady. “There’s a summary attached on page one.” He finally looked up at her, eyes sharp. “Did I ask for an explanation?” Aria’s lips pressed together briefly. “No. You asked for a signature.” Damian shoved the file back toward her.

The Forbidden Alpha’s Mate

The Forbidden Alpha’s Mate

When I came it was with his name and his hands and everything he had just said in the quiet office and all of it completely and permanently mine. He followed with my name on his lips. We lay still after. "The second route tomorrow," he said quietly after a while. "Yes," I said. "Early," he said. "Yes," I said. "And when we get back," he said. "Daniel needs the trace request for the retired coordinator." "Already written," I said. "I drafted it while you were reviewing month nine." "While I was reviewing month nine," he said. "You were focused," I said. "I had a free hand."
